Why Pray?
Why should we pray?
We PRAY because we are ABLE TO
We are ABLE TO through God’s
SON
SPIRIT
WORD
We pray because we are ABLE TO, we are able to because God sent HIS SON
Galatians 4:4-6
But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”
We pray because we are ABLE TO, we are able to because God sent HIS SPIRIT
Romans 8:26-27
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because[a] the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
If there is no groaning and longing for transformation is that prayer led by the Spirit or our own self ambition?
“Prayer is continuing a conversation that God initiated through his word and his grace, which eventually becomes a full encounter with him.” - Pastor Tim Keller
We pray because we are ABLE TO, we are able to because God has given us HIS WORD
Psalm 145:18-19
The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
19 He fulfills the desire of those who fear him;
he also hears their cry and saves them.
