Born of Woman | Galatians 4:1-7

Big Idea: The Son became human so that humans could become sons

  • What is the human problem?

    • Our internal problem: sin

    • Our external problem: we live in a world wrecked and ruled by evil

  • How did Jesus solve it (as a human)?

    • Solving the internal problem: The punishment for human sin/guilt is human death. In his humility and love, the Son of God became human to bear the punishment. Because of that, we’re forgiven and reconciled.

    • Solving the external problem: Jesus’s death brought judgment on this evil world and the devil

  • How does it help us?

    • First, we are invited to be adopted into God’s family

    • Second, we receive Jesus’s ongoing help

      • Help with the internal problem: Jesus was human, so he knows our weakness and temptation (Hebrews 4)

      • Help with the external problem: The armor of God

  • Final encouragement: Take the gospel with you everywhere you go!
