The Holy Spirit Comes After Us to Save Us

The Holy Spirit Comes Inside Us to Sanctify Us

The Holy Spirit Comes Upon Us to Supply Us

  1. Ceased Completely- Charismatic Gifts have Totally and Completely Ceased.

  2. Active But Occasional- Charismatic Gifts Haven't Ceased. They continue, but God only Seems to Give them on Occasions

  3. Active With Care- Charismatic Gifts Haven't Ceased. God gives them to people in the Church. If they are Practiced, it MUST be Done with Care and ONLY for the Edification of the Body.

  4. Active Without Restraint- Charismatic Gifts Haven't Ceased. And they Should be Practiced Without Restraint in the Church.

1 Corinthians 12:1

Now concerning[a] spiritual gifts,[b] brothers,[c] I do not want you to be uninformed.

1 Corinthians 14:1-5

Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation. The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church. Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up.

Acts 2:4-6

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language.

1 Corinthians 14:2

For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 12:3

And I know that this man was caught up into paradise—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows—

The Gift of Tongues is the Ability to Speak in a Real Human Language Not Previously Learned. The Gift of Tongues Should be Accompanied by Interpretation and NEED to be Used Appropriately to Edify the Church.

1 Corinthians 14:27-28

If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn, and let someone interpret. 28 But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God.

1 Corinthians 14:39-40

So, my brothers, earnestly desire to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.40 But all things should be done decently and in order.

1 Corinthians 14:4

The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church.

We believe that a spiritual gift is a God-given ability for service for the building up of the body of Christ. Every believer has at least one spiritual gift. However, no single spiritual gift is given to every believer, therefore the presence of a certain gift CAN NOT be a sign of salvation. We believe that the Holy Spirit is sovereign in the bestowal of spiritual gifts for the edification of the church.

1 Corinthians 12:29

Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?

1 Corinthians 14:3

On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.

  1. Has This Gift Completely Ceased?

  2. Is Prophecy in The New Testament the Same as Prophecy in The Old Testament?

1 Corinthians 14:1

Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.

1 Corinthians 14:5

Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-20

Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies,

The Gift of Prophecy is the Divine Strength or Ability to Communicate and Interpret the Purposes of God, or to make Known in any way the Truth of God in a way that Calls people to a Right Relationship with Him.

1 Corinthians 14:23-25

If, therefore, the whole church comes together and all speak in tongues, and outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are out of your minds? 24 But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all, 25 the secrets of his heart are disclosed, and so, falling on his face, he will worship God and declare that God is really among you.

"Prophecy is the Reception and Subsequent Transmission of Spontaneous, Divinely Originating Revelation."

Ephesians 2:19-21

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens,[a] but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.

Hebrews 1:1-2

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.

The Gift of Healing is the Divine Strength or Ability to Act as an Intermediary in Faith and Prayer. Its The Divine Enablement to Restore the Sick to Immediate Health Without a Necessary Faith Response by the One(s) being Healed.

1 Corinthians 12:8-9

For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,

2 Timothy 4:20
