When Should We Pray? | Grace Daily Prayers

Building the Kingdom at Grace Through Prayer

One of the greatest services you can ever engage in for our church is prayer.

The foundation for our sanctuary has been poured, so this week we are praying for our worship ministry. Every day as you pray through the lens of the provided Scripture for yourself, your family, our community, etc., please also pray about the daily prayer point for God’s worship ministry.

Sunday

Psalm 55:22

Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 18:6

In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help.
From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears

Isaiah 40:31

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Prayer focus – Praise God that through worship on Sunday, our people cast their burdens on God as they sing and pray. Please pray for our people and our worship team to readily give the burdens of their lives and their ministries to God.

Monday

Psalm 38:4-6

For my iniquities have gone over my head; like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

James 5:16

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.

Prayer focus – Praise God that He forgives us our sins. Please pray for our people and our worship team to be ready to confess and to repent as they enter worship every Sunday and spend time with God throughout the week. Pray that sin would not keep anyone from attending church because Jesus has already paid the price for our sins and will forgive us and cleanse with just the simplest of confessions. Pray that we would stand firm against Satan the accuser and claim the blood of Christ over our sins.

Tuesday

Mark 1:35

And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.

2 Timothy 1:3

I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day.

Prayer focus – Praise God that we WORSHIP God every time we call to Him, and that He delights in every call because He is such a good good Father. Pray that our people would worship God daily in set apart times and in all times throughout the day. Pray that our worship team would be prayer warriors.

Wednesday

James 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Prayer focus – Praise God that He gives wisdom to our worship leaders as they pray each week about the Word being preached that Sunday and choose the songs and the events of our worship. Pray to God that He would continue to provide that wisdom and to especially craft our service each week to meet the spiritual needs of our people.

Thursday

Psalm 107:1-3

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!

Psalm 9:1

I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Prayer focus – Praise God that we can thank Him in all circumstances. Pray to God asking Him to heal our worship leaders and our people as we testify our trust of His goodness each week in song and word.

Friday

Colossians 2:6-7

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

1 Peter 5:6-7

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Prayer focus – Praise God that He has rooted us and built up our church so that we can minister to our people and our city who do not know Him. Pray that He would convict us of our pride and trust our exaltation to Him. Pray we would trust Him like children. Pray that through worship every Sunday, He would perfect our attitudes.
