How Should We Pray? | Grace Daily Prayers
Last week in Daily Prayers, we shared how the foundation for our new children’s sanctuary and classrooms was poured, and we prayed for our children’s ministry. On the second story of that sanctuary, we will have our youth group rooms. Therefore, this week our prayer focus is our youth ministry to middle and high school students. Every day as you pray through the lens of the provided Scripture for yourself, your family, our community, etc., please also pray about the daily prayer point for youth ministry.
Sunday
But now even more the report about him went abroad, and great crowds gathered to hear him and to be healed of their infirmities. But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.
-Matthew 5:15-16
Prayer focus -- Please pray for our youth that they would meet with God regularly each day so that today and in the future their service would stem from a rich relationship with their Father.
Monday
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
-Matthew 6:9
Prayer focus – Praise God that He is OUR Father, that our youth are our brothers and sister in Christ. Praise Him for all He is to our youth as their Father. Praise Him for His Holiness and that He works in our youth to set them apart as Holy for Himself.
Tuesday
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
-Matthew 6:10
Prayer focus – Praise God that He is our King and He rules both heaven and earth. Please pray that God would establish a passion for the King of Kings and that He would accomplish His will in our youth and youth group ministry.
Wednesday
Give us this day
our daily bread,
-Matthew 6:11
Prayer focus – Praise our Father that He provides all we need to do His Kingdom work in our youth. Please pray that God would provide leaders and curriculum and funding and ideas and strength and all the necessary “bread” that we need to make disciples of our youth.
Thursday
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
-Matthew 6:12
Prayer focus – Praise our Father that He forgives the sins of our youth. Ask Him to help them to understand that they are to forgive those who have sinned against them because He has forgiven them.
Friday
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
-Matthew 6:13
Prayer focus – Praise God that He protects our youth from the evil one, from the temptations of the world, and that He has put His Spirit within those who have trusted Him for salvation to battle their sinful nature. Please pray He would reveal the sins of our youth to themselves and to their parents and leaders who love them. Ask Him to rescue our youth caught in habitual sin or addictions, that He would enable them to repent.
Confession
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
-1 John 1:9
Thanksgiving
