Why Pray? | Grace Daily Prayers
Church, the foundation for our new children’s sanctuary and classrooms was poured last week!! Therefore, we are introducing the prayer focus of children’s ministry. Thank you for joining us in prayer!
Sunday
We pray because we are children of God.
At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
“Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me.” -Matthew 18:1-5
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. -Hebrews 4:16
Prayer focus -- Please pray for the children of Laredo today, especially in light of our current circumstances.
Monday
We are called to pray.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. -Romans 12:12
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. -Philippians 4:6
pray without ceasing, -1 Thessalonians 5:17
Prayer focus -- Please pray for our children’s ministry, which will be opening up again on campus April 18th (English) and June 20th (Spanish).
Tuesday
Prayer expresses our faith in God.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, -Ephesians 3:20
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. -1 John 5:14-15
Prayer focus -- Please pray for the building of our new children’s classrooms and sanctuary
Wednesday
Our prayers changes others’ lives.
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, -1 Timothy 2:1
praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints -Ephesians 6:18
At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— -Colossians 4:3
bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. -Luke 6:28
Prayer focus -- Please pray that God will provide leadership for our quiver full of children, especially as Grace in English moves to a new building and Grace in Spanish expands in our dearly beloved old building.
Thursday
God opens the eyes of the lost when we pray.
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.”
-John 6:63 & 65
Prayer focus -- Pray God would bring children who do not know Jesus to Grace.
Friday
Our prayers defeat our enemy.
Like a warrior's fistful of arrows are the children of a vigorous youth. Oh, how blessed are you parents [church] with your quivers full of children! Your enemies don't stand a chance against you; you'll sweep them right off your doorstep. -Psalm 127:3-5
praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints -Ephesians 6:18
Prayer focus -- Pray for God’s protection for our children (physical & spiritual).
Confession: Confess your sins, your guilts & doubts
Who has believed what he has heard from us?[a]
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 For he grew up before him like a young plant,
and like a root out of dry ground;
he had no form or majesty that we should look at him,
and no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected[b] by men,
a man of sorrows[c] and acquainted with[d]grief;[e]
and as one from whom men hide their faces[f]
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
-Isaiah 53:1-3
Thanksgiving: Thank God for answers to Prayer, for things He has done. No prayer requests during this time.
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon[a] his shoulder,
and his name shall be called[b]
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
-Isaiah 9:6
