Our God Is Compassionate (Sympathy, Kindness, Caring)

Materials needed: Bible, Pen & Journal

Praise:

Praising God for who He Is, His Attributes, His Name, His Character.

Read:

Sunday: Psalm 116:5; 103:13

Gracious is the Lord, and righteous;
our God is merciful.

As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.

Monday: Psalm 145:8,9; Isaiah 30:18

The Lord is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

The Lord is good to all,
and his mercy is over all that he has made.

Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you,
and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for him.

Tuesday: Nehemiah 9:16-21; 2 Corinthians 1:3,4

“But they and our fathers acted presumptuously and stiffened their neck and did not obey your commandments. 17 They refused to obey and were not mindful of the wonders that you performed among them, but they stiffened their neck and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt.[a] But you are a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and did not forsake them. 18 Even when they had made for themselves a golden[b] calf and said, ‘This is your God who brought you up out of Egypt,’ and had committed great blasphemies, 19 you in your great mercies did not forsake them in the wilderness. The pillar of cloud to lead them in the way did not depart from them by day, nor the pillar of fire by night to light for them the way by which they should go. 20 You gave your good Spirit to instruct them and did not withhold your manna from their mouth and gave them water for their thirst. 21 Forty years you sustained them in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing. Their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Wednesday: Matthew 9:36

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Thursday: James 5:11

Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

Friday: Lamentations 3:22

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;[a]
his mercies never come to an end;
