Breaking the Ice/Think Time
1. Have you as a believer, ever thought that Christianity wasn’t worth the struggle?
Quick Review… Looking back at your notes from this Sunday’s sermon, what caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?
Understanding the Truth (Aim for 30 minutes)
Read Hebrews 2:1-4
1. In verse 1, the author gives a warning to his readers, what is it?
2. What reason does he give in vv. 2-3, for his warning in v.1?
3. How did God bare witness to the great truth that is the gospel? (see v.4)
Read Hebrews 2:5-11
4. In vv.5-8, the author explains that all things are subjected to Jesus and in v.9 points to Jesus’ crowning achievement. What was that achievement and what does it reveal to us about God?
5. How does vv.10-11 show us that though Jesus was fully God, he was also fully human? What suffering was the author writing about? Why did it need to be that way?
Read Hebrew 2:14-18
6. Many times we feel alone in our temptations, yet, vv. 14-18 tells us that Jesus didn’t remain far off but was caused to suffer the same temptations we suffer and having overcome them is now a high priest who can help us overcome our temptations? How should this truth help us in daily struggle with temptation?

7. Have you found yourself distancing from the gospel during this time of covid? If so, what are some ways you can rekindle you love for the gospel in your daily life? If not, what have you continued to do in order to hold onto your love of the gospel? (SHARE WITH YOUR GROUP)
8. How can your prayers change knowing that Jesus is our High Priest that can empathize with us through our temptations and is willing to help us overcome them?
